In order to capture the social value your organisation generates for your stakeholders you need to adopt a suitable outcome measurement system that will record the changes they experience.
On the market there are the following toolkits:
- Views is the latest online monitoring, evaluation and reporting system (an ‘online platform’) developed by Substance that helps organisations to demonstrate the value and outcomes of their work ’in real time’. Frontline organisations have access to automated functions to help them explain how their outputs actually contribute to client outcomes and organisational objectives.
- The Outcomes Star™ is a tool for supporting and measuring changes for vulnerable people created by Triangle Consulting. It is underpinned by an explicit model of change, adapted for different client groups and settings, including homelessness, mental health, employment and now infrastructure organisations.
- The SOUL Record stands for Soft Outcomes Universal Learning and is a toolkit for measuring progression in soft outcomes e.g. confidence, self-esteem and problem solving. It was created out of a partnership between the voluntary sector in Norfolk and Norwich City College.
- The Rickter Scale is an assessment and action planning process based around a hand-held interactive board which measures soft indicators and distance travelled.
